A patient with ischemic heart disease, atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, and hypertension.

Age: 83
Gender: Female
MRI

Multiple pacchionian granulation are demonstrated under both transverse sinuses as areas of T2 hyperintensity that do not enhance with the venous sinuses on post-contrast T1 sequences.

Case Discussion

Pacchionian granulations, also known as arachnoid granulations, represent normal anatomical structures incidental seen on brain imaging. Their importance lies primarily in that they can sometimes be confused for pathology.
