Case contributed by Bahman Rasuli
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Rapid growing left-hand palmar aspect mass from 6 months ago.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

There is a 20 x 40 x 45 mm large abnormal signal well-defined solid mass lesion (isointense to muscle on T1 and hyperintense on T2/PD fs) at the palmar aspect of the left hand with pressure effect on flexor retinaculum and flexor tendons.

Abnormal increased fluid signal within and around the median nerve fibers.

Pathology of the left-hand palmar mass was compatible with low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma.

Case Discussion

Sarcoma should be kept in the main differential diagnosis of rapid-growing soft tissue masses of the hand and delay in surgical treatment eventually worsens prognosis.
