Pancreatic insulinoma

Episodes of hypoglycemia in a healthy young patient. Repeated fasting hypoglycemia was always between 30-45 mg/dL.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

A relatively well-defined (2.7 x 2.2 cm) hypervascularized mass is seen at the neck of the pancreas with no infiltration of adjacent peripancreatic fat or enlarged lymph nodes.

Note small simple hepatic cyst of the segment VII of subcapsular location (confirmed by ultrasound, not shown).

Case Discussion

The clinical presentation and the CT features are suggestive an endocrine tumor of the pancreas (insulinoma).
