Panoramic imaging on ultrasound

Case contributed by Dr Jayanth Keshavamurthy

Known pelvic mass for one year and prior hysterectomy.

Patient Data

Age: 99
Gender: Female

What kind of ultrasound image is this? Why is this used?

Anechoic large pelvic mass measured using panoramic imaging.

This technique is used to measure objects/masses larger than the field of view by stitching the images together.

Gives large field view by sliding the transducer across the organ surface by adding new data to existing data (not commonly used)?

Large low density mass in the plevis separate from the urinary bladder likley cyst adenoma.

This CT was done 1 year prior to the ultrasound.

Case Discussion

This case is mainly to discuss the ultrasound image for the board exam.

Panoramic imaging

Due to patients age and stability nothing more was done.
