Painless neck swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 25

There is a 11*15*21 mm well circumscribed paramedian fluid signal cystic mass in the upper neck and between the strap muscles in the left side.

Case Discussion

Differential diagnoses of paramedian cystic masses in the upper neck include thyroglossal duct cysts and ranulas. Thyroglossal duct cyst is the most common type of congenital neck cyst and pediatric neck masses. They are typically located in the midline of the anterior neck, close to the hyoid bone or paramedian within the strap muscles.
