Case Discussion

A parameniscal cyst is a very common finding in cases of a degenerative meniscal tear.

It occurs when synovial fluid becomes encysted, often secondary to a meniscal tear extending beyond the margins of the meniscus.

The patient with meniscal cysts may present with a palpable soft tissue swelling, with or without knee pain.
