Parathyroid adenoma

Bilateral loin pain and generalized bony ache.

Patient Data

Age: 46 years
Gender: Male

An oval shaped lesion is seen in the left parapharyngeal location. It lies juxtathyroid in relation to the postero-inferior aspect of the left thryoid lobe. It appears hypo to isodense in relation to the adjacent thyroid with desne calcific foci within. It shows rather homogeneous in the post contrast study.

Case Discussion

Parathyroid adenoma is the most common cause of primary hyperparathyroidism.
