Presentation

Right sided neck swelling - Few years. No pain.

Patient Data

Age: about 65 yrs
Gender: Male
ultrasound

There is a cyst with internal echoes in right parotid region, with a well-defined wall. It is posterior to the submandibular gland, superficial to the carotid artery and internal jugular vein, and closely related to the medial and anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The cyst is separable from superficial lobe of parotid gland. Approximate size of cystic lesion is 41 x 34 x 32 mm.

There is no cervical lymphadenopathy.

Case Discussion

MRI revealed cyst involving superficial as well as deep lobe of right parotid gland (not uploaded, no copyright).

Surgical excision was done. Histopathology revealed lymphoepithelial cyst of parotid gland.
