Parotid pleomorphic adenoma

Presentation

Mentioned lump at left angle of the mandible at GP well man's check up. Been there for a couple of years, but getting bigger. ? preauricular lymph node.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

2.1 cm well defined solid mass in the superficial lobe of the left parotid gland.

Case Discussion

Appearances are typical of a parotid pleomorphic adenoma.

These are the commonest salivary gland tumor and typically solid as opposed to Warthin tumors which have cystic elements.
