Pars interarticularis defect

History of automatic lower back pain, no history of trauma, no pain radiation no numbness.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
  • the lumbar spine is inclining to the left side on the AP view
  • straight lumbar spine on the lateral view
  • severely decreased disc space with moderate anterior spondylolisthesis L5-S1 (Meyerding grade II)  and pars interarticularis defect is seen
  • mild degenerative changes with anterior osteophytes L1 to L3

  • grade I: 0-25%
  • grade II: 26-50% 
  • grade III: 51-75%
