Partial tear of posterior cruciate ligament with infrapatellar plica injury
Presentation
Pain and swelling in the knee. Past history of injury. Marker placed at the site of pain.
Patient Data
Inflammation and fat stranding are seen in infrapatellar fat pad along infrapatellar plica.
Partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in mid-segment and femoral attachment.
Horizontal linear hyperintensity is seen in posterior horn of medial meniscus not reaching up to articular margin consistent with intrasubstance tear/meniscal degeneration.
Mild tendinitis of intracapsular segment oh popliteus tendon.
Case Discussion
The site of the marker corresponds to the infrapatellar region. Inflammation and fat stranding are seen in infrapatellar fat pad along infrapatellar plica in keeping with an infrapatellar plica injury (ligamentum mucosum injury).
