Transverse patellar fracture with retraction of the proximal fractured fragment. There is associated soft tissue swelling.
Case Discussion
Patella fracture usually results from direct trauma to the patella or sudden forceful contraction of the quadriceps muscles mostly secondary to sports-related injury.
