Pain and swelling around right knee joint following a fall

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Male
Modality: X-ray

Patella of the right knee joint is not seen in its normal position.

It is displaced laterally.

Left patella appears normal

Case of lateral patellar dislocation

This occurs due to medial retinacular disruption following a trauma to knee joint. This finding can be confirmed on MRI
