Patellar fracture

Presentation

Knee pain post fall.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
X-ray

Knee radiograph

There is a transverse fracture through the patella with minimal displacement. Moderate amount of joint fluid noted within the suprapatellar recess. No other fractures seen. Minimal reduction of the medial compartment of the femorotibial joint, which is otherwise unremarkable.
