Presentation

Recurrent swelling and pain below the knee cap since late childhood.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Male
MRI

Bone island and high fluid-equivalent signal within the distal patellar tendon. Effusion in the deep infrapatellar bursa. 

Case Discussion

A case of chronic  traction apophysitis (Osgood-Schlatter disease) persisting through adulthood.
