Case contributed by Ian Bickle
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Recent pathological femoral fracture. Now left clavicular pain?

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Minimally displaced fracture of the mid-left clavicle.

Underlying permeative lesion in the mid-clavicle.

Case Discussion

With fractures in the elderly always ensure there is no underlying pathological bone lesion.  In this case the moth-eaten appearance is due to a bony metastasis.

CT imaging and subsequent biopsy revealed this to be a metastasis from a lung malignancy.
