Pectus excavatum with COVID19

Cough, shortness of breath, reduced level of consciousness.

Gender: Male

There is mild left-side scoliosis, with pectus excavatum chest wall deformity.

Lung fields showed bilateral epical paraseptal emphysematous changes. Associated with bilateral peripheral and parabronchial distributed mid and lower zones patchy areas of ground glass opacities, with smooth interstitial septal thickening giving crazy paving pattern.

The right posterior basilar segment of consolidation is noted with focal bronchiectatic changes.

Pectus excavatum is a chest wall deformity that is typically asymptomatic, especially in its mild form.

This patient was admitted to confirm the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection during the pandemic.

The differential diagnosis includes viral pneumonia.

For our patient, a positive history of contact with COVID-19 patient, along with laboratory results, confirmed the diagnosis.
