Presentation
The patient presents with 2 days of diffuse abdominal pain, progressively localizing to the periumbilical region and finally to the right lower quadrant. Associated symptoms include a subjective fever for the last 2 hours, and her last bowel movement was 2 days ago, which was normal and nonbloody.

Ultrasound of the right lower quadrant shows a non-compressible, dilated blind-ended tubular structure measuring 9mm in diameter with surrounding inflammation. The target-like appearance of this structure is supportive of the diagnosis of appendicitis, which was confirmed via laparoscopic appendectomy.
