A gas-filled lucent lesion is projected over the region of the esophageal hiatus.

A portion of the fundus of the stomach is seen above the left hemidiaphragm, consistent with a hiatus hernia.
Case Discussion
A plain film is suggestive of hiatal hernia. The barium swallow is diagnostic for hiatal hernia.
Diagnosis: Hiatal hernia, paraesophageal.
