Pellegrini-Stieda lesion

Presentation

Recurrent knee pain. Had a knee injury during contact sports 4 years ago.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

A linear calcification with a smooth margin is visible adjacent to the medial femoral condyle. 

Case Discussion

This lesion represents an ossified post-traumatic lesion at the medial femoral collateral ligament suggestive of a Pellegrini-Stieda lesion.

DD includes; Stieda fracture and calcific tendinitis of the medial collateral ligament.
