At the site of origin of the medial collateral ligament and a focal region of calcification is demonstrated in keeping with previous injury (Pellegrini Stieda lesion), although there is superimposed soft tissue swelling suggesting a more acute component. The knee is otherwise unremarkable in appearance. Only a very small joint effusion is present. No fractures identified.
Case Discussion
Typical appearances of previous MCL injury with superimposed acute changes.
