Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

The tibial interference screw and distal femoral endobutton are appropriately positioned and aligned following ACL reconstruction. Post operative soft tissue gas noted.

A Pelegrini-Stieda lesion is demonstrated at the medial femoral epicondyle.

Case Discussion

The Pellegrini-Stieda lesion represents an avulsion of the femoral attachment of the medial collateral ligament, which would have occurred at the time of the pivot shift injury that caused the ACL rupture.
