Improvised pelvic binder.

Case Discussion

The patient was brought up to the hospital by the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service. The prehospital rescue team suspected pelvic instability and improvised a pelvic binder using a moldable splint.

Pelvic instability was later discarded, but pelvic binders are important if suspected instability, such as in open book fractures, and can prevent major hemorrhages.
