Presentation
History of right ureter stone removal and ureter catheter. Incidental finding on CT KUB. No history of recent or remote trauma.
Patient Data
The CT image showed the well-corticated finger like bony protuberance (pelvic digit) with multiple pseudoarticulations arising from the left iliac wing extending inferiorly and anteriorly towards the anterior abdominal wall.
L5 first degree lytic spondylolithesis.
Right lower calyceal renal stone.
Case Discussion
Pelvic digit (also known as a pelvic rib or pelvic finger) is a rare congenital abnormality where there is development of bony tissue in the soft tissue pelvis (and less commonly in the abdomen). They can be associated with one or more pseudo-articulation. They are usually unilateral.
General imaging differential considerations include:
- myositis ossificans on the pelvis
- avulsion injury of the pelvis
- Nail-patella syndrome
- osteochondroma
