The pre-contrast image shows a large, hyperdense lesion in the right pelvis adjacent to the sacroiliac joint.
By injecting the contrast medium via a Foley catheter, the urinary bladder is visualized with relatively irregular and trabeculated margins, and vesicoureteric reflux into the dilated urinary collecting system of the right ectopic pelvic kidney is evident.
Case Discussion
This retrograde cystogram in an elderly patient with chronic pelvic pain and a poor urinary stream demonstrates an ectopic right pelvic kidney with a large stone and ipsilateral vesicoureteric reflux.
