Penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer of the ascending aorta with mediastinal hematoma and compression of the pulmonary artery.
Case Discussion
This patient underwent surgery with successful replacement of the ascending aorta and the aortic arch. Unfortunately, patient succumbed 2 weeks later secondary to multi-organ failure.
