Penile arterial insufficiency: Doppler ultrasound

A diabetic patient presented with erectile dysfunction

Patient Data

Age: 38
Gender: Male

Post-injection doppler waveforms obtained at 5, 10, 15 (two readings), 20 (three readings), and 25 minutes. Peak systolic velocity is consistently below 30 cm/sec. Visually, tumescence and partial rigidity was seen 15 min. after injection, however patient could not develop full rigidity or erection.

This case demonstrates role of penile doppler in arterial insufficiency.
