Perforated appendix

Right iliac fossa pain for one week.

Patient Data

Age: 50 yrs
Gender: Male

Perforation is noted in the distal appendix. Base and proximal segments, as well as tip, appear normal.

There is a periappendical collection, inflamed fat, and adherent small bowel loops.

Case Discussion

Perforated appendix is a potential complication of acute appendicitis.
