Severe abdominal pain and hematemesis

Patient Data

Age: 68 years old
Gender: Male

Contrast-enhanced abdominal CT scan with oral contrast shows free extravasation of oral contrast material. There is also a large amount of free intraperitoneal air and fluid.

Case Discussion

Features are consistent with perforated peptic ulcer. The patient went on to have a laparotomy which confirmed the diagnosis of a perforated gastric ulcer.
