Age: 35 Years
Gender: Male

There is a simple intersphincteric perianal fistula.

Internal opening: 10 o’clock (which means anterior and right to the midline in the supine position.

Shape: linear

Secondary tract or abscess: no

External opening: right side of the gluteal cleft

Evidence of any disease: no

Case Discussion

Nowadays, surgeons will send almost all patients with perianal fistula for a pelvic MRI before the operation, as it reduces the recurrence rate. This patient had surgery and the feedback from the surgeon was the same as our report. There is no fluid in the tract but there is enhancement, the interpretation is that there is granulation tissue but no pus.
