A well defined cyst with minimally lobulated margins is noted adjacent to the apex of lower left first and second premolar tooth. Appearances are consistent with a periapical / radicular cyst.
Case Discussion
Periapical also known as radicular cysts are generally unilocular, lucent cystic lesions with well defined margins. They are usually less than 1 cm in size, associated with the apex of teeth. There is generally history of prior infection. A close differential would be a dentigerous cyst which is associated with crown of an unerupted teeth.
