Presentation

Fell several hours after having been fitted with a new hip prosthesis.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female

Total hip arthroplasty, right.
No evidence of loosening or dislocation, adequate bone stock around femoral stem.
Fracture of greater trochanter - Vancouver A(G).

Periprosthetic fracture of the greater trochanter - Vancouver type A(G).
Intramuscular hematomas in the internal obturator and piriformis, as well as deep to the iliotibial band.

1st-2nd degree anterolisthesis of L4 on L5 and L5 on S1, combined with hypertrophic ligamentum flavum at L5, with resultant severe distal lumbar spinal stenosis. Intervertebral osteochondrosis at L4-L5.

Sigmoid colon diverticulosis.
