Peripully ganglion cyst

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Painful nodule at 3rd metacarpal head region. Referred for ultrasound to rule out / rule in ganglion.

Patient Data

Age: 35 yrs
Gender: Female
ultrasound

An anechoic lesion ( 4 x 3 mm ) is noted abutting A1 pully. It shows imperceptible wall. A1 pully shows normal thickness. No tendon thickening / tenosynovitis is noted. Palmer plate is intact. No joint effusion or cortical erosion is noted. No flexor tendon tear is seen.
