Abdominopelvic pain and progressive distension.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Thick walled multiseptate abdominopelvic peritoneal cystic lesions are seen without calcification or enhancing solid components. Some free fluid is also observed.

Case Discussion

The typical appearance of peritoneal hydatidosis usually occurs secondary to the seeding of echinococcosis to the peritoneum and gives the appearance of a multiloculated mass.

The patient underwent surgical resection of the cystic lesions, and histopathology evaluation confirms hydatid infection
