Peritonsillar abscess

Presentation

Fever and sore throat since 5 days.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
ct

Prominent volume of both palatine tonsils. A marginally enhanced collection is seen within the right peritonsillar region.Faint inflammatory changes in fat planes of the right parapharyngeal space.Moderate indentation of the right wall of the oropharynx causing marked right sided airway compromise. Associated reactive lymph nodes were seen in both anterior cervical chains.

Case Discussion

Clinical and CT Findings are consistent with a right peritonsillar abscess.
