Increased intracranial pressure.
Patient Data
There is an irregularly shaped heterogenous mass at the posterior aspect of the right lateral ventricle, extending into the surrounding parenchyma, with adjacent sulcal effacement. No midline shift.
The mass shows peripheral and heterogenous enhancement, and is hypointense on T1 weighted imaging. There is no diffusion restriction. Appearances suggest glioblastoma.
There are two foci of rounded increased signal at the lateral aspect of the tumor.
Case Discussion
The mass was surgically removed and the histopathology demonstrated a glioblastoma.
Note: This case predates the recent (2016) revision WHO classification of CNS tumors and IDH status is not available. As such, this tumor would now be classified as a glioblastoma NOS.
