The lateral ventricles are enlarged mainly posterior horns with irregularity of ventricular margins, periventricular gliosis (T2/FLAIR periventricular white matter hyperintensity) and thinning of white matter posteriorly. Thinning of the posterior part of the corpus callosum also noted. Findings are suggesting periventricular leukomalacia.
Case Discussion
History of prematurity with perinatal insult and had significant developmental delay. The pattern of white matter loss is typical of periventricular leukomalacia.
