Peroneal tendon instability

Ankle twist - about 6 wks back. Snapping at lateral aspect of ankle.

Patient Data

Age: 15 yrs
Gender: Male

Referred with clinical diagnosis of peroneal instability.

Static ultrasound images shows intact peroneal tendons located superficial to fibula. There is no associated bony avulsion fracture from distal end of fibula.

Peroneus brevis tendon is compressed between peroneus longus tendon and fibula.

Dynemic scan ( not uploaded ) showed dislocation of tendons from normal location.

Findings of peroneal tendon instability with intact tendons.
