Peroneus brevis tendon split tear

- longitudinal split tear of the peroneus brevis tendon and forward moving of the peroneus longus tendon into the gap
- flat retromalleolar groove
- signs of tenosynovitis of the common peroneous tendon sheath
- calcaneal spur
Case Discussion
Peroneus brevis tendon tears are acute or chronic, and may be asymptomatic or associated with lateral ankle pain and/or instability. They commonly occur at the level of the retromalleolar groove.
