Presentation
Diabetic and hypertensive with history of dizziness and fall down.
Patient Data
Age-related changes of cerebral atrophy and cerebral small vessel disease. No skull bone fracture or intracranial hemorrhage is seen. No recent infarction is seen. Incidental finding of persistent metopic suture associated with hypoplastic right frontal sinus.
Case Discussion
Metopic suture is commonly obliterated by the age of 7 years but may persist as an anatomical variant. It is often associated with aplasia or hypoplasia of the frontal sinus. It has a classical imaging appearance (midline location and sutural interdigitations) which helps in differentiating it from the frontal bone fracture.
