Abnormal gait with right hip pain

Patient Data

Age: 11 years
Gender: Male

Abnormal flattening of the RT femoral head epiphysis Coxa plana

Circumferential enlargement and deformation of the RT femoral neck Coxa magna

Abnormally wide right joint space.

Case Discussion

Perthes disease is idiopathic AVN of the femoral head. In the current study the patient suffers stage IV perthes disease with deformity of the femoral physis as well as metaphysis.

The absence of any postromedial slipping of the femoral physis excludes Slipped upper femoral epiphysis (SUFE)
