Presentation
Recurrent right knee medial side pain for the last few months. No trauma.
Patient Data
There is a bone spur from the proximal medial tibial cortex in the region of the pes anserius. The spur is directed away from the joint without a cartilage cap covering it. It is just posterior to the caudal end the medial collateral ligament of the knee. The spur elevates the sartorius tendon. There is no local bursitis.
Case Discussion
A child presented with recurrent medial knee region pain without a history of trauma. The radiograph showed a proximal medial tibial spur (not uploaded, no copyright). Ultrasound was done to rule out/ rule in local bursitis.
The case shows pes anserinus spur without pes anserinus bursitis.
A companion case (rID 13616) shows a radiographic finding of the spur.
