Peutz-Jeghers syndrome

Case contributed by Chris O'Donnell
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Family history of intestinal polyps, Past history of small bowel intussusception requiring surgical resection and muco-cutaneous melanosis

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

CT enteroclysis

ct

Bilbao-Dotter tube placed in duodenum under fluoroscopic control and dilute barium injected to fill and distend the small bowel.

Multiple small and large bowel polyps (arrows) as well as multiple renal angiomyolipomas in left kidney (not normally part of the syndrome).  Note also subtle enhancing lesions in the liver.  The polyps of this syndrome are usually benign i.e. hamartomas thus the liver nodules are very unlikely to be metastatic - possibly adenomas given the patient's age and gender.
