It’s a 3D T1 TFE pulse sequence, the data acquired in the axial plane.
Vascular pulsation artifacts from both internal carotid arteries appear as linear structures along the phase-encoding direction. There is hippocampi involvement.
Case Discussion
Solutions to phase mismapping include:
1. Acquire 3D T1 GRE data in the sagittal plane with posterior-to-anterior phase encoding direction.
2. In the case of the axial plane acquisition, try to change the slice order direction to up-bottom.
