Presentation

Known case of pigmented villonodular synovitis. Referred for radiograph and knee ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: about 45 yrs
Gender: Female

Radiographs : Joint space reduction, dense soft tissue shadow involving joint.

Ultrasound : Hypoechoic well-defined masses with vascularity in suprapatellar - infrapatellar region, along medial - lateral joint lines, posterior aspect of knee .  Herniation of synovial proliferation through previous arthroscopy port sites - both sides of patella.
