Pilocytic astrocytoma

Axial T1
A large predominantly cystic mass lesion with some solid enhancing component is noted within the right cerebellar hemisphere causing effacement and compression of the fourth ventricle with resultant moderate dilatation of the proximal ventricular system. Mild surrounding vasogenic edema is noted.
No diffusion restriction on DWI/ADC sequences. No dropout signal on SWI sequence.
Case Discussion
Pilocytic astrocytoma is considered as grade I astrocytoma by the World Health Organization (WHO). It is most common during the first two decades of life and most commonly located within the cerebellum.
