Pine cone bladder

Difficulty in micturation.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

Elongated small capacity urinary bladder with a conical shape towards the dome of the bladder with irregular trabeculated walls representing pine-cone bladder. Vesicoureteric reflux is also noted on left side.

Case Discussion

Pine cone urinary bladder is appearance of urinary bladder on cystography. It is typically seen in neurogenic bladder, however, it is not pathognomonic for it and can also be seen in bladder neck obstruction. Further evaluation was advised to evaluate the cause of this presentation but patient has been lost to follow up.
