Info

No evidence of intracranial haemorrhage. Incidentally, circumscribed fluid density (size around 18 mm) was seen in the pineal gland, with thin peripheral rim calcification. Due to the size, follow up was suggested.
Case Discussion
The CT examination was performed to exclude intracranial haemorrhage.
A pineal cyst is usually an incidental finding. If it is small, no treatment is required. When it is bigger, it can cause obstruction and hydrocephalus. Follow-up imaging is required because other disorders, like pineocytoma, can look quite similar.
