Patient Data

Age: 10 years

Cystic lesion with thin internal septation, measuring approx. 10 x 12 x 7mm (AP x TD x CC) is involving the pineal region, indenting the superior tectum anteriorly. It appears hyperintense on T2, slightly hyperintense on FLAIR, and shows thin, peripheral rim enhancement on post-contrast study. No obvious solid component is seen. No obvious hydrocephalus was seen in the present scan.

Case Discussion

Findings are suggestive of a pineal cyst leading to Parinaud syndrome which explains the patient's symptoms.
