Patient Data

Age: 20 years

Prominent pineal gland is seen, measuring approx. 11 x 08 x 5.5 mm (AP x TD x CC) with tiny cystic areas within. It shows heterogeneous enhancement on post contrast study. No significant mass effect is seen in present scan.

Case Discussion

Findings suggest possibility of pineocytoma, although a plump normal pineal gland would look very similar.
